Aug 17 2009 - Daggett & Marcoullier Earn Top Honors

    In early SOD action, Dustin Daggett won the Dash, Heat 1 went to Greg Dalman, Davey Brown won Heat 2, Tim Norman was victor in Heat 3 and Dain Naida won the B Main. As the feature was pushed on to the track the drivers set up the traditional “4 wide” salute to the fans with Tim Norman and Ryan Ruhl on the front row for the green flag. Norman grabbed the early lead down the back stretch and held it until lap 13, when Dustin Daggett cruised into the lead and holding on to make this his ninth feature win in 2009. Ruhl held on for second, Norman 3rd, Brown 4th, Ryan Grubaugh 5th, Jake Stebner 6th, Ryan Davis 7th, Louie Carufel 8th, Brett Mann 9th and rounding out the top ten was Joe Bares. “Big Movers” were Grubaugh and Stebner, each gaining 9 positions.

                In the UMP Late Model Ranks, Frank Seder won the Dash, Brandon Thirlby won Heat 1, Heat 2 went to Josh Knoll, Terry Humphreys took honors in Heat 3 and Andy Sprague won the B Main. In the Feature event Justin McNeill and Knoll brought the field to the green flag with McNeill grabbing the lead and on lap 2, Knoll took the point. On lap 7 Dona Marcoullier got by Knoll and did not look back. Allen Markel took 2nd, Knoll 3rd, Bob Hammar 4th, Don Marcoullier 5th, McNeill 6th, Seder 7th, Bruce Vance 8th, Dave DeKam 9th and Andy Chester in 10th. “Big Mover” would be Bob Hammar moving up 8 positions.

                During Pro Truck competition Dick Stout won the Dash, Heat 1 went to Adam Brinks and Bob Hammar took the checkers in Heat 2. J.T. Anderson and Ian Knoertzer lead the field into turn 1 during the Feature, with Anderson taking the lead out of Turn 2 and on lap 4 Knoertzer moved to the lead and never looked back, winning the 20 lapper. Brinks took 2nd, Hammar 3rd, Mike Nelson Jr. 4th, Richie Sutherland 5th, Blake Meyering 6th, Jerry Mynarcik 7th, Anderson 8th, Shane Branscombe 9th, and Stout 10th.

                In Sportsman class Greg Grahek won Heat 1 and Kevin Crawford Sr. took Heat 2 and the Feature with David Mielke 2nd, Justin Clous 3rd, Grahek 4th, Dave Madden 5th, Jim Miller Sr. 6th, Jim Miller Jr. 7th, Dan Hersey 8th, Jaramia Richards 9th, and Ted Myer 10th.

                The Factory Stock division Mark Howie took the checkers in both the Heat and Feature with John Matthews 2nd, Roger McQueen 3rd, Mike Higdon 4th, Brian Steele 5th, and Craig Roys rounding out the field.

                August 22nd at Merritt Speedway will be hosting the American Late Model Series and also have Modifieds, Pro Trucks and Factory Stocks, so See Ya at the RACES.
